Nið(ur)

for soprano, flute, clarinet in Bb, violin, cello and piano
Nið(ur) was composed for Elektra Ensemble and Elísabet Einarsdóttir who premiered the piece at the opening concert of Dark Music Days in Reykjavík 2016. The lyrics are from a poem called Haustið nálgast by Stefán frá Hvítadal. The piece is inspired by misty autumn nights in the Icelandic countryside with golden red skies, dewy dark green grass and the mystic that follows.
